Your Open House questions, answered

When should I arrive?

Open House runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., but you don’t have to arrive right at 10. Check the times of the sessions and tours you want to attend, then give yourself enough time to park, get oriented and make your way to your first stop.

Do I need to stay for the whole day?

No. You can come for part of the day or stay from start to finish. Plan your visit around the sessions, tours and experiences that matter most to you.

What if two sessions I want to attend happen at the same time?

You may not be able to fit everything into one day, and that’s okay. Start with the timed sessions that matter most to you, then use program booths and drop-in activities to ask questions or learn about anything you miss.

Where can I park, and how else can I get to campus?

Parking is free on campus during Open House. You can park in any MacEwan parkade or parking lot during event hours.

You can also get to City Centre Campus by LRT, bus, bike or other transportation. Check the MacEwan University parking and transit map for parking locations, LRT stations and nearby transit stops.

What if I get lost or need help?

Look for Open House volunteers and staff throughout campus. They can help you find buildings, rooms, activities and the next stop on your day.

Can I bring family or supporters with me?

Absolutely. Parents, family members, friends and other supporters are welcome to join you. They can attend sessions, visit booths and ask their own questions throughout the day.

What if I need an accessibility accommodation?

American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters will be available during Open House. Visit the Open House Welcome Centre in Building 7 if you need an interpreter.

If you need another accessibility accommodation or want to plan ahead, contact openhouse@macewan.ca before the event.

What if the weather is bad?

Most Open House activities take place indoors, and much of MacEwan’s Campus is connected by indoor pedways. You can get to most of the places you’ll want to visit without spending much time outside. Just dress for the weather for the parts of your visit that may take you outdoors.
