SAFE AT MACEWAN

Physical Safety

Students, employees, visitors and contractors—we are serious about the safety of everyone on campus. If you see a situation that puts you or others at risk of injury or illness, or if you have been injured on campus, reach out to us for help.

If you notice, or trip over, a loose hallway tile, slip on spilled food or liquids in the hallway, come across a wheelchair accessible doors that won’t open, or encounter a violent or potentially violent individual, let us know. Any time you are injured or see a situation that has the potential to injure you or someone else, we want to address the situation and keep you and others safe.

A dedicated team of security officers regularly patrols inside and outside university buildings to provide assistance, encourage compliance with university policies, prevent crime or acts of violence and notice and address imminent or actual hazards, such as tripping hazards, spills and poorly lit areas.
