OPEN STUDIES
COURSES
Search for available classes.
Before applying, search for class availability using the search feature below. Many classes are reserved for program students and may not be available to you as an Open Studies student.
Transfer credit for students in Open Studies will be assessed only on request and only to establish prerequisites. If you have met a prerequisite by completing a course at another post-secondary institution, email the Transfer and Articulation Unit at transferunit@macewan.ca after you apply. In your email, include:
- Your full name
- MacEwan ID number
- A list of the MacEwan prerequisite course(s) for which you are seeking transfer credit, and
- A list of the course(s) you believe may be equivalent to the prerequisite course(s).
Official transcripts are required to complete transfer credit evaluation. You may also need to provide an outline for incoming course(s) if we do not have transfer credit articulation in our database. Check your to-do List in myStudentSystem and monitor your MacEwan email for requests from the Transfer and Articulation Unit. During high volume periods, transfer credit evaluation may take up to 5 business days from receipt of required documents.
The Open Studies course search shows classes that have at least one seat available Open Studies student enrolment. If you don't see the class you want, check back later. In the week before classes start each term, many programs open some of their courses to all students.
