POLICE and INVESTIGATIONS – INVESTIGATIVE STUDIES

Field Placement

The classroom provides you with the foundational knowledge required for a career in investigations; the field placement allows you to put that theory into action.

You will have the opportunity to participate in a supervised field placement in the second year of the program in areas such as:

  • Bylaw enforcement
  • Private investigations
  • Investigative and security agencies (private, public and government)
  • Fraud investigations
  • Customs and immigration
  • Corporate security

Field placement provides the opportunity to bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace.

International students

International students must have a valid study permit with authorization to work on campus written on their permit before starting their field placement, clinical practice or practicum. If you plan to work with vulnerable populations in a health, community or medical field, you need an up-to-date medical exam by an IRCC-approved panel physician before starting the work placement.

You must contact MacEwan International to check your student work placement eligibility.
