PSYCHIATRIC NURSING
DIPLOMA
In the Psychiatric Nursing diploma, extensive theory, laboratory and clinical practice build on concepts from nursing and psychiatric nursing, as well as from the biological, health and social sciences.
Concentrated blocks of clinical practice experiences are strategically positioned throughout the program and are designed to maximize your learning and build on your theoretical knowledge.
This full-time, 28-month program distributes coursework over 2.5 academic years. It is offered in two places: City Centre Campus in Edmonton and the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury in Ponoka.
Certification
Graduates of the psychiatric nursing diploma program are eligible to write the Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Canada Examination and apply to become a Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
