MacEwan University’s off-campus housing project is growing. With nearly four times more housing options than last year, students have significantly more opportunities to live, work and play near campus.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be working with more developers who share our passion for creating housing solutions for our students,” said Dr. Annette Trimbee, president and vice-chancellor. 

“MacEwan is growing fast as we work to keep up with the demand for skilled graduates. Housing that is conveniently located, affordable and suited to our students’ needs is essential. It not only helps ease challenges our students face – it also helps foster a sense of community and supports downtown vibrancy.”

With Westrich Pacific and Beljan Group joining Qualico Properties and Maclab Development Group, this year’s program now has seven properties offering affordable options to MacEwan students. 

“Living near campus gives students a different experience,” said Trimbee. “They can walk to campus, meet up with their classmates to grab a bite to eat or take in a show. We’re very excited that we’ve been able to expand this program to offer students more choices for housing near MacEwan.”

This expanding project further highlights MacEwan’s commitment to its students and to supporting the vibrancy, safety and revitalization of downtown Edmonton. This is just one initiative among efforts MacEwan is undertaking to help students address affordability challenges and succeed in their studies.
