BOARD of GOVERNORS

President Reappointment

MacEwan University’s Board of Governors has initiated the reappointment review process for incumbent President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Annette Trimbee. Dr. Trimbee’s current term is from August 1, 2020, to July 31, 2025.

MacEwan University appoints university presidents for a five-year term. If there is mutual interest between the President and Vice-Chancellor and the Board of Governors to extend the position, the reappointment review process is initiated for a potential second five-year term. President Trimbee has requested that the Board of Governors consider her for a second term.

The presidential reappointment is guided by MacEwan University’s President Search & Selection, Review and Compensation Policy and Presidential Reappointment Procedure.

Review process

The Presidential Reappointment Committee reviews the feedback gathered during the consultation period regarding President Trimbee’s work to date and makes a recommendation to the Governance and Human Resources Board Committee and to the Board of Governors regarding reappointment. The potential reappointment of MacEwan’s President and Vice-Chancellor is an important decision for the future of the university. We encourage everyone to get involved and to share their perspective. Your opinion is important to us.

This process is jointly led by Tracy Sopkow, Chair, Governance & Human Resources Committee and Carolyn Graham, Board Chair, MacEwan University Board of Governors.
